Nirvair (Yunnan 1970s x Manipur Marjing)

Calm as the winds of heaven.

A while back, I was blessed with experiencing what I would deem to be the craziest Musk I could get my hands on. I had experienced über-rare Vietnamese grains before and I had held the wildest of Kashmiri grains in my hand and taken deep sniffs of smells which only the greatest of poets could even begin to describe.
But this one was different, it did not growl nor did it command. This was a Musk with wisdom to it, the trials and tribulations of time made it into a mellow, loving character with nothing but flowery, cardamom nuances and chocolate dripping down from it, an incense note filled the air as I opened it and there it was, my nose was held hostage by this musk and i could not stop sniffing.

For someone looking to make a quick buck off of this musk, it would make sense to add it to any vintage oud and sell it at absurd prices to collectors who would buy it up for the name of it, but most ouds would hurt the shy character of the musk. This right here needed a distillation of its own.

So it was decided, I talked to my distillers and sourced some extremely high quality shavings, and thus started the intricate process of creating something worthy of this Musk.

That's how Manipur Marjing was born
One sniff and you will know why they call certain Ouds "mindbuzzing"
Ain's in-house distillation, a non-soaked, artisanally distilled Manipur Oud which feels like a co-distillation of Vietnamese Qinan wood, but it is hindi through and through. Notes of ink, old wooden chests, very slight spice and a burst of Oud resin on a low heat subitism burner was what we got.

And the resulting profile?
Heaven, it is impossible to describe it, but all those who tried this have asked for some of this, to whom I have had to sadly refuse. But here, it is being offered once and for all, a very limited batch and available only in 0.5 & 1g sizes.
